Winter Park Playground

Playtime For Everyone!

Winter Park is a famously family friendly destination, so it’s no wonder we have a great selection of outdoor parks to let the little ones burn off some steam.

Here are our favorite four spots.  Any others? please comment!

Hideaway Park

Located in central downtown Winter Park, Hideaway Park offers a wonderful jungle gym with good slides, a mini-climbing wall, and a rocking dog ride.  A covered picnic area with grills make for a great lunch spot, with public restrooms right beside.  A big grassy lawn gives plenty of space to charge around, and doubles as a sledding hill (with free sleds) in the winter months.

The Rendezvous Event Center stage is located in Hideaway Park, offering many family friendly events throughout the year.  Check out our events schedule to see what’s on during your Winter Park vacation.

The Confluence Park walking trail also begins at Hideaway Park offering a short 3/8 mile long interactive trail along the Fraser River/Vasquez Creek confluence – a perfect length to keep the kids minds engaged.

Older kids might also enjoy the skate park, which skirts the edge of Hideaway Park and offers a good selection of ramps, bowls, rails and steps.

Wolf Creek

Go up Kings Crossing and you’ll see it on the left after passing over the train tracks.   This Park offers a good grassy lawn for soccer or frisbe, a great jungle gym with nice flooring, plus free tennis courts and a basketball court.  A covered picnic area with grills is available, as are public restrooms.  Given its location, this park is often overlooked by visitors, making it a quieter spot with killer views of the surrounding mountains.

Cooper Creek Square

Negotiate shopping time with a little playtime in Cooper Creek Square.  In the central plaza you’ll find the Rockwerx outdoor playground featuring climbing boulder and the Sidewinder; plus an attractive fountain with a family of bears to splash around with.

Fraser Valley Sports Complex

This 40 acre park is home to the ‘Ice Box’ ice rink in the winter months and offers two soccer fields, volley ball court and large kids play area in the summer months.   A picnic shelter, grills and picnic tables are up for grabs on a first come first service basis (unless the venue has been booked).  Adventure Quest – a high ropes adventure center is located right next to the FV Sports Complex for those looking for a fun challenge.

Rendezvous River Park

This is a small park on the Fraser River Trail at the entrance of the Rendezvous estate.  Simple but very cute, kids will love the big bear, climbing rocks and play gym, and it makes for a great stop off on a hike or bike along the Fraser River Trail.
