Base Camp 472

The home was amazing and provided a wonderful ski-in/ski-out location for my wife and I along with our two adult kids and their significant others. The house is beautiful and in a fantastic location. My one recommendation is for the owners to provide bathrobes.

Despite the snow not be the greatest, we made the most of our family time in Winter Park. With ages 9 months to 60-plus, there was a plethora of activities to engage in. The staff at Winter Park Lodging are so helpful and communicative. The stay at BaseCamp 472 provided a perfect spot to vacation for a few days.

We really enjoyed our stay this past week at Basecamp 472! Everything was well kept, clean and in good working condition. The beds were comfortable and the bedrooms were large. Our only criticisms would be that the closets did not have any hangers in them and there were no dressers in at least one of the king bedrooms. I will also echo another reviewer and agree that the unit was very dark. Even with all the lights on, it was still dark - especially in the bedrooms and the bathrooms. Overall though, it was an excellent unit - and it sits directly next to the walk path to the ski cutoff that takes you right to the Winter Park Gondola!

Very organized kitchen. Good location. Need brighter lights in the condo-very dark and dim. Just changing out lightbulbs to brighter, whiter ones would help. They put our Christmas decorations which was a nice thought but they are very dated and better without them. We had a few issues with the fireplace and they came right away to fix.

This was a summer send off trip for extended family and was a terrific spot to stay. Kids had bunk space and grandparents the lower area. We all enjoyed the woodsy area and being close to all the activities at the Resort. We hope to return again for ski season!

Was so terrific to be so close to the slopes yet have a nicer, larger space to enjoy. Linens were very comfortable and clean and kitchen was stupendous! We visit Winter Park often and are so glad to have discovered this property/neighborhood. We'll be back for sure!

We had a wonderful stay at Base Camp 472! Everything was perfect! Prettier than the photos. We loved the big aspen trees and the wooded area with a nice flowing stream on the side by the hot tub. It was the perfect setting for our getaway to Winter Park. I recommend this place to anyone that doesn't have issues with stairs. We are active in our later 60's and had no problems. All the furniture was high end and comfortable. You can tell a lot of love was put into this home, not your ordinary vacation rental. Grab it before it is gone!

This place is super spacious and the kitchen is well equipped. The hot tub is nice. Only complain is the master bedroom doesn’t have curtains (facing the mountain and trees).

The property exceeded our expectations! It was extremely clean and well maintained. The cleanest we have stayed in! Nothing was worn or needed to be replaced. Bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The ski in -ski out was amazing! WPLC was excellent at communicating and let know when the hot tub was being checked and snow was being removed from the roofs. They were proactive in asking if we needed anything multiple times. The kitchen had great appliances for preparing our meals! We highly recommend this property and Winter Park Lodging Company.

We were two families visiting Winterpark for a week-long vacation. The accommodations were immaculate with plenty of space for our group (7 adults plus a 10-yr old) to spread out and all of the amenities we could hope for. The management team was super-responsive throughout the entire booking process and the duration of our stay...a pleasure to work with! Access to the ski trail was a bit of a trek (couple hundred yards and a ew flights of stairs), but certainly manageable for everyone in our group. Would absolutely stay again!

We stayed here for a family getaway and really enjoyed the condo. It was one of the nicest airbnbs we have stayed in. It’s close to town but feels secluded. We loved the trail behind the condo, and the views the aspens this time of year was spectacular.

The Base Camp 472 was a very comfortable spot for skiing. It's located right by the path access for skiing/corridor trail. We were excited about that! A wonderful full kitchen with everything you could want for meal-making. We skied in for lunch daily and enjoyed this property very much. Thank you!

This beautiful unit accommodated our 3-family group well, providing a large gathering spot in the main living room and a huge dining table. Bedrooms with comfortable beds, tvs, & bathrooms allowed privacy when we wanted it. Kids loved the bunk beds. The pristine hot tub is secluded, & extra towels were provided. Kids found a delightful path to a “lookout” behind the townhouse. I would recommend Base Camp 472.

With two living spaces, three bedrooms with en-suites plus a kids’ bunk room, this unit was perfect for three couples with several children. Bedrooms have their own tv’s, too. (For one baby, we brought our own pack n play; the two year old loved a pullout couch on the lower level; and four & six year olds loved the bunks.) King beds for adults were very comfortable; extra pillows & blankets were tucked in a closet. The giant dining table accommodated all of us. The hot tub was immaculate and secluded. We felt quite at home. We loved Base Camp 472!

The accommodations couldn't have been better for our three generations to share time together. There was room for everyone to spread out with plenty of bathrooms and even a convenient half bath off the kitchen area. The sights, sounds and smells of the trees, waterfall, birds off the back deck were just so soothing. It was an easy drive down to the ski basin for a day of fun at the alpine slides, which the grandkids loved. The kitchen had everything you could ask for. I had wondered if we'd get uncomfortably warm this time of year, but that was not an issue at all; the mornings and evenings were pretty chilly and the fireplace was fun to turn on with the flip of a switch for ambience and to take the chill off. Overall, we just loved this place and can't wait to come back!

The house was a great way for us to accommodate two parents and three adult children without having to deal with hotels. There was plenty of space and privacy, and large common areas. The kitchen was well-stocked with all the kitchen tools that one would need. Bathrooms also had the necessary items and the right amount of towels. We also enjoyed the hot tub after a day of skiing (conditions were perfect, in mid-winter shape). Some minor quibbles that did not detract from the overall experience: mattresses (especially the bunk beds) were overly soft, dining room chairs were not the right size for the table (or vice versa), there were no drawers/shelves for clothing in the upstairs master bedroom.  The promoted Corridor trail that leads to the Gondola is much more work than advertised, especially climbing three flights of stairs with equipment after walking across snow-covered hills from the house to the stairs for perhaps 100 yards. But as I said, these are quibbles and we would happily stay there again.

MANAGER COMMENTS:  Thanks for letting us know.  We'll visit about mattresses, chairs and clothes storage in the property.  The rugged nature of the lay of the land made direct trail access a bit tricky so the stairs were the best/safest option by design.  Please give us a call and we'll gladly find a property with easier access for your next stay if needed.

This condo is very nice. Lots of space for multiple families, as we had. You can walk to the slopes, which we did, but it is all uphill. You can only ski back in if you are a very advanced/expert skier, as it is steep and filled with trees. Management was very responsive to our requests. A+

Glad you enjoyed your stay with us Stacey. You can just ski back down the Cooridor trail which you accessed heading out to ski and back down the stairs and trail to the property. That is how the trail access was designed for the neighborhood anyhow. I don't believe aside from that access that folks are meant/offered to ski back down to the townhomes through the woods....although I suppose they likely do not have it roped off!

This place was terrific. So close to skiing and laid out very well for our group. The couples with the kids could all be in their own level and the other couple could be downstairs in their own private area. Very nicely furnished and clean. We would surely come back again.

Great spot for a getaway. We enjoyed having access to the trails on the mountain just a short hike away and such a pretty wooded area back in there. Great layout for everyone to enjoy together or find their own little spaces. We'll let our friends know.

This place is terrific. There was amble space for our 5 adults and 4 kids. The kitchen/dining areas is so great. Soaker tub in Master bath is not to be overlooked...so relaxing! We thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks!

This was our fourth year at Basecamp with family and friends. We enjoyed our stay as always. Thanks to the great management team who are always available and ready to help! We would have appreciated more condiments & spices & a pizza pan in the kitchen. Also, bath soap should be a given in the showers. 472 is probably due for new carpets soon & the dinnerware is showing wear. Thanks for the yummy box of local Toffee! Patsy Noll

I was very impressed with the Winter Park Lodging Company. The app they provide includes all of the property specifics and recommendations for local activities, which was very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. This was an amazing place to stay...everything was impeccable. We had a wonderful vacation skiing, but staying here made it extra special...a very upscale place to stay.
There was lots of room for our group of seven adults. The gourmet kitchen was fully furnished with everything you would need. The living room was very comfortable and was a nice gathering area in the morning for coffee or the end of the day to play games, listen to music or just talk. The heated garage and driveway was an impressive feature. The bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. The hot tub was easy to use and enjoyable after a day of skiing.
Access to the Corridor Run was a short walk on a path to a couple of flights of stairs...it is really close to the runs. Although some in our group did find the walk and stairs a bit exhausting only because of the elevation, however you cannot really get any closer to the runs.
Overall, this was an excellent place to stay...very relaxing and enjoyable.

Base Camp 472 was all it was pictured to be and more. This was the perfect home for the family. With lots of space, large kitchen and dining area. The hot tub on patio hit the spot after a day on the slopes. We can't wait to return.

This is the second year we have stayed at Base Camp 472. We actually enjoyed it so much last year, that we reserved it again for this season. It is so roomy and easily accommodates 12. The ease to the slopes is a plus as well. We ski in the morning and ski in for a lunch break!

We loved the beautiful house we stayed at and what stuck out the most was the service provided by the resort. Everyone was very professional, courteous and truly went out of their way to help us with any questions. The only suggestion we have is for the resort to try to make the understanding of the bus routes a little bit more clear. Otherwise there wouldn't be any reason we wouldn't revisit. Thanks for the feedback. We are implementing a new way for our guests to view where the shuttle bus stops are on their route. We have placed markers of where they are on the map in relation to property location. We hope this will alleviate any future confusion. We hope to get to host you again sometime!

We truly had an incredible Thanksgiving vacation. It was great to have our entire family with kids and grandkids in the same house. The location adjacent to the Jane and to the base of Winter Park made everything very convenient. I am confident our family will return soon. We have a great time at Base Camp!!! This rental has everything. It is comfortable, clean and very easy to get in and out of. We really like sleeping with the windows open hearing the sounds of the stream right next to the building. Winter Park Lodging does a wonderful job! And a big thanks to the owners for sharing.

From our initial booking all the way through check out our experience was wonderful. Winter Park Lodging was a pleasure to deal with. The townhouse was amazing with plenty of room for eight adults and two children (ages 7 and 11) to spend time together and get away from each other when desired. The ski in and out is more conducive to intermediate boarders than to the beginner. But, eventually all in our party will be able to take advantage of this amenity.

What a great vacation rental. After the beautiful 2 hour drive to Winter park from Denver, we couldn't have been happier! This is a wonderful place! From the large gorgeous picturesque windows, open floor plan, hot tub and gas grill on the large deck to the somewhat stocked kitchen and comfy bedrooms. Several fireplaces and the elevator that serviced each of the 5 floors, we were living the life while attending the 2015 Winter Park Jazz Festival--which also was wonderful! We did play CDs and an Ipod on the component system. I was in the hot tub every day. There is a little creek that runs down the back and side of the house. When it rained which it did every afternoon there was a little waterfall in the creek. There is also a little hiking trail that takes you to the top of one of the slopes on the other side of the house, but there is a warning sign that you hike at your own risk due to the altitude as you go higher up. Of course the house was a little pricier to due the Jazz Festival, but the prices fluctuate throughout the year. I highly recommend this house. It was really really great!

Base Camp 472 was more than we expected, pletny of room and the facilities were excellent. Even though we had no personal contact with your employees (none needed during our stay) due to your conveninet check in and check out system, we appreciagted all the set up, cleanliness, and had everything we needed for our 11 person stay; it was all there and available. Our Denver family guests who use Winter Park a lot really appreciated the convenince and ski in / out trail and stairs to lower mary jane. Our young ones, 7 and 5 loved the ski school, and babies (2 - 3 year olds and a 6 month old) enjoyed the spaciousness of 472 with plenty of room to work off their energy since they went outside rarely due to the cold. The place was perfect for what we needed for our 5 day stay. Thank you.

Winter Park Lodging Co. was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. The townhome was fabulous with plenty of space for our group of 10 to spread out and not feel on top of each other. The ski-in/out access was a struggle for our younger children (ages 5 & 7) so we preferred to take the shuttle bus, which seemed to run very consistently and we never waited more than 10 minutes coming or going.

We love doing a family trip with a bunch of our kids’ friends every winter. After working hard all year, I like to feel like I’m on a luxurious vacation and get the most for my money. This place exceeded my expectations. The elegant furnishings, multiple fireplaces, hot tub, heated floors, and 2 living areas helped create the exact atmosphere I was looking for. The coffee pot was broken and a few light bulbs were out when we arrived, but it was all fixed fairly quickly. Great price and great company to work with.

Stunning inside and out! Amazing location—just a short hike to the slopes (some of us opted for the shuttle!) The townhome is also just a short shuttle ride to the grocery store and downtown. The place was very well stocked and even had humidifiers in every bedroom! Winter Park Lodging Company did a wonderful job in helping us create a perfect family vacation.

This place is AWESOME. It is located just a short walk from the base of Winter Park Resort—we could just walk around to the back of the house and ski down to the chair lift. This townhome well exceeded our expectations. Winter Park Lodging Company was very informative and made our whole trip easy and stress free. The townhome was very large and the kitchen was phenomenal. Our older son is a great cook and fell in love with this kitchen! I will definitely be back again!

The townhome is ski in/ski out; however the route to the slopes is a little difficult for beginners. I would also suggest renting a car if you do not want to take the shuttle—the townhome is very close to the resort which offers many shops and restaurants, but it is not a fun walk in the cold and snow. The place itself is amazing. The outdoor space with the fireplace and hot tub was a great spot to unwind. The inside was decorated beautifully with nice furniture and even had heated tile floors! We cannot wait to come back.

Perfect place for our ski vacation with 2 families. The kitchen was very well stocked and even had some spices. The unit had a spacious layout so our large group did not feel cramped at all. Each bedroom had a private bathroom! It was nice to take a vacation to the mountains and get away from the heat back home. WP Lodging Company made our stay wonderful by going above and beyond—we needed extra towels and they had them there within 15 minutes! Only drawback we had was a broken DVD player in the kids’ room which got handled before we left.

We had a wonderful experience from beginning to end with Winter Park Lodging Company. Loved that we could ski from the unit to the resort even though it was a little tough being a beginner skier- lots of laughs had on the way. The unit was gorgeous with HUGE windows and comfortable bedrooms. The kids loved the ipod docks to play their music. We will definitely be back!

This townhome was exquisite! The two living areas were great when the older kids wanted their own space to hang out. The kitchen was extremely nice. The kitchen was top of the line and up to date. We did have an issue with the dishwasher, but the lodging company took care of this in a very timely matter. Other than that, no issues and a great stay!

They called us before our stay to make sure we knew where we were going and when we arrived. Anything we needed was responded to right away. The unit was gorgeous. Just lovely. We stayed at this property for a family vacation and it was gorgeous! It was very clean and nicely decorated. The property is very close to the resort and only a short drive from downtown. This made everything very convenient for us. It was great being so close to the slopes with a larger group. We would love to stay here again.
