The 31st annual Winter Park Jazz Festival dates have been announced. This year Winter Park, Colorado’s biggest summer music festival will take place on July 20, 2013 – July 21, 2013! This years festival will again take place under the majestic Colorado Rocky Mountains in Hideaway Park in the heart of Winter Park, CO

Last years Winter Park Jazz Festival headliners were Charlie Wilson on Saturday and David Sanborn on Sunday. Look for a lineup this year that will include some of the Jazz worlds biggest stars. We will keep you posted on the lineup with an expected announcement expected in April.

The jazz festival is one of the best events I have attended. However, I miss being on the slopes. When it was on the slopes we still went into town to patronize the bars, restaurants, Alco, Safeway, and 7-11, Attending the event on the slopes added extra ambiance to the festival.
Attending last year, the entrance to the VIP section caused the people having tiks checked by event staff to block our view. I was thinking that entrances to the VIP section would be better if the entrances were at each side of the section rather than the back. General admission are seated in chairs and blankets, so we are sitting lower than the people standing and our view is often blocked by those going into the VIP section. So having the side entrances is a suggestion
My main purpose for writing is that I am organizing a bus charter to the 2013 event and having a hard time getting commitments because of lack of an line up announcement. Your website indicates April, but when I called I was told March. Lodging is booking already–the Best Western is completely booked and other are booking up. I am unable to make group reservations for the 3 nites because I can’t show my guests a line-up. They are comparing the lack of line-up to the Essence Festival in New Orleans which is also in July who have already announced the line-up. I have lost guests to the Essence Festival due to this. Can you confirm if we will have a line-up announced in March or April? Obviously March (early March) would be better to get lodging booked and people committed to the event and pay deposits. Not just for us, but for the thousands that attend this event.
Personally, I feel that the Winter Park Jazz Festival is much better than the Essence Festival due to the ambiance of a mountain resort compared to a smelly big city. I hope you will take advantage of my suggestions which are offered in true sincerity of making the event even better as far as booking and information.
I hope you will respond as to when the line-up announcement will be made so that we who need to make plans can do so more proactively.

The official line-up will be released in March and ticket sales will start in April. As soon as the lineup is available it will be posted to the Winter Park Chamber website and the Winter Park Lodging Company website and Facebook page.
When it comes to the seating sections, there will only be two seating sections VIP and General Admission. VIP section will not have assigned seating. The Winter Park Jazz Festival planners will be looking into the entrances on the side of the VIP section.
