New for 2026/2027: An Extra Hour That Only Helps If You Are Close
Lifts now open at 8:00am on Saturdays and Sundays from December 5, 2026 through April 4, 2027. That is a free extra hour on weekend mornings, and it is the strongest argument for slopeside we have seen in years.
An 8:00am first chair is a rough ask from Denver and a real effort from a lot up the road. From a condo 50 yards off the Zephyr Express, it is a short walk with coffee in hand. That hour of empty corduroy is worth more than most people's entire afternoon.
Why Stay Ski-In Ski-Out at Winter Park?
1. First Chair Becomes Easy Instead of Heroic
Fresh corduroy or deep powder, whatever your preference, being in position for first chair after your morning coffee is worth its weight in skiing gold. No lot, no shuttle, no negotiating.
2. Mixed-Ability Groups Actually Work
Skiing with family is great fun. Keeping everyone happy for eight straight hours is a different sport. Slopeside means the beginner can call it at 1pm, the toddler can nap, someone can duck back for a warm-up, and the diehards can keep skiing. Nobody has to hold the whole day hostage.
3. Ski School Drop-Off Stops Being an Operation
Skis, boots, poles, helmet, goggles, gloves, snacks. Getting all of that and a small child from a parking lot to ski school on time and without tears is genuinely hard. Being able to walk, or wagon, the kids to their lesson changes the entire morning.

If you would rather not drive a mountain road in a storm, or shepherd a family in ski boots onto a bus every morning, having the lifts, tubing, dining and entertainment on your doorstep is a real luxury.

Read the access column honestly. "Ski-in ski-out" means different things at different properties. Zephyr, Fraser Crossing, Founders Pointe and the Base Village Lofts are a short walk to a lift. Chill, Base Camp and Bridger's Cache use the Corridor Trail, which is a real ski run and requires the ability to ski a blue comfortably.

Zephyr Mountain Lodge
The closest lodging to the lifts at Winter Park, full stop. Zephyr sits just 50 yards from the Zephyr Express chairlift, right at Village center at the foot of the Winter Park Territory trails. It is also the deepest part of our slopeside inventory, which means we can usually match you to the right layout even in a busy week.

Fraser Crossing & Founders Pointe
Two newer complexes sitting right next to each other, offering modern studios up to three bedroom condos within 150 yards of the Gondola, ski school and the rest of the base area amenities.
The standout feature is the amenity deck on the third floor of each building: a large hot tub, gas grills, outdoor seating and a fireplace, with the Village and the ski slopes in view the whole time. It is the best communal outdoor space of any slopeside property we manage, and it is where your group will end up every evening whether you planned to or not.

Chill
One of Winter Park's newer developments, Chill is a set of modern luxury condos at the base of Jane Creek with a design sensibility unlike anything else at the resort. Guests reach the slopes via a 150 yard walk on a heated sidewalk to the Corridor Trail, or take the free shuttle to the Village, a quarter mile away.
A heated walkway in a ski town is a small thing that you will appreciate roughly forty times a day.

Base Camp on Jane Creek
A small, secluded community of luxury townhomes tucked into the woodland below the ski trails, next to Iron Horse Resort. Every Base Camp townhome has two lounge areas, a private hot tub, a private garage and a gourmet kitchen, which makes it the sweet spot between a condo and a full stand-alone home.
Ski access, honestly: roughly a 150 yard hike on a packed snow trail and staircase to the Corridor Trail, or the free shuttle to the Village a quarter mile away. It is a genuine walk, not a stroll, and the payoff is the peace and the private hot tub.

Bridger's Cache
The only gated luxury home community at Winter Park Resort, sitting just below the slopes of Mary Jane. True ski-in ski-out access to the Corridor Trail, which connects through to the Winter Park base area, or a 300 yard walk or drive to the Mary Jane base.
These are the top of our slopeside collection: multi-level homes with multiple living areas, gourmet kitchens, private hot tubs, two-car garages and finishes to match. Every residence has its own character, and the developer held each build to a standard that fits the mountain setting rather than fighting it.

Plan around Mary Jane's calendar. If you are choosing Bridger's Cache specifically for its proximity to the Jane, note that Mary Jane typically opens in January and closes earlier in spring than the main mountain. Target mid-January through mid-March.
