There are many options available, from maintained outdoor ice ponds, to full size hockey rinks. For those that don’t feel completely at ease on skates, weekly broomball games make for a great (and less intimidating) adventure on the ice.
Cross Country Skiing & Snowshoeing
If you’re looking to get away from it all, head to the tranquil forest trails waiting to be explored around Winter Park.
If you want to explore independently, snowshoes and cross country skis can be rented from local store, Epic Mountain Sports; or enjoy professionally maintained skate and traditional tracks at nearby Devil’s Thumb Ranch or Snow Mountain Ranch YMCA.

Looking for something to keep the kids entertained with away from the slopes? Grand Park Recreation Center is a first class facility full of fun for every age of visitor.
A full size aquatic center includes lap pool, lazy river, slides and diving boards, plus steam room, sauna and hot tubs for the adults. Dry land activities on offer include a climbing wall, large gym, basketball court, gymnastic and dance studios.
You’ll find many sporting goods and artisan stores throughout Winter Park Resort, Downtown Winter Park and Fraser, but if you want the best selection in one spot, head to Cooper Creek Square in Downtown Winter Park.
Cooper Creek Square offers a large selection of gift stores, clothing outlets and restaurants in a pedestrianized shopping mall. They also offer many fun and free activities, such as horse drawn carriage rides, live music and ice cream socials.
