I thought I would do a little restaurant review of the Back Country Grill in the town of Winter Park. We headed over last Tuesday night to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant now occupies the space that Sushi Bar was in two years ago. We walked right up and got a seat on the patio and it was a lovely night.
Started the night out with a couple of Stoli and tonics and moved right into dinner. Sarah had the Filet Mignon and I had the pork chop of the day. The pork chop was stuffed with goat cheese and herbs and it was fantastic. Sarah’s filet was also very good.
We ordered a bottle of Châteauneuf–du–Pape that was a bit thin and bitter. We asked our server about it and she agreed and brought out the owner. He suggested letting the wine breath a bit. After about ten minutes the wine had changed and really opened up. Turned out to be a great bottle of wine and we were impressed with how they tried to handle our complaint.
Overall we were impressed with the service, food and atmosphere. We shall return.
