Season Of Seven Gets Seven More Days
You heard it right folks: having enjoyed 28 glorious feet of snow falling on our slopes this season, Winter Park Resort officially announced its plans to extend the winter ski season until Sunday, April 27th. In a perfect display of approval, mother nature dropped another 10 inches on Winter Park last night, and is continuing her rampage, with another 5 inches anticipated today.
The 2013/14 Winter Park snow stats clearly spell out some of the best spring skiing conditions ever recorded:
Total season snowfall: 350.5 inches
Current snow base: 90 inches
Open terrain: 3,072 acres
Open lifts: 19
Open trails: 152
Ski conditions: POWDER!
So, what does this mean for Spring Splash and the end of season celebrations? Despite the extension to the season, Winter Park Resort will still enjoy its annual Springtopia festival on April 19th & 20th, where weekend visitors can enjoy free performances by Big Head Todd and the Monsters and Dumpstaphunk, and pit their wits against the pond in the popular Coca-Cola Spring Splash event.
Individual lift ticket prices for the extended period have yet to be announced, but we did just receive word that the Triple Play Pass will valid for use through April 27th. The Triple Play Pass is currently on sale for $139.00 for 3 days of April skiing at Winter Park Resort/Mary Jane. We highly recommend purchasing the Triple Play Pass soon if you are planning to take advantage of our great spring skiing conditions, as these passes are currently only on sale until April 8th.
