Sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in the day to satisfy your ski addiction. If you’ve never tried night skiing, March is the month to do it. Warmer evening temperatures make for comfortable lift rides, and snow conditions are prime for slicing up the lit groomers.
Night skiing is offered at Granby Ranch, another local ski resort, 20 miles west of Winter Park. Offered on Fridays & Saturdays, from 5pm-8pm, at the bargain rate of just $14 per person, night skiing is a seriously good deal and a whole lotta fun when the sun goes down.
Our thought is, if you going to head that way, why not make a night of it? Granby Ranch is home of the The Grill, which is currently hosting a week long Tuscan cuisine series.
This special event, March 4th through March 10th, will welcome Italian guest chef Sergio Lorenzi to take the helm of the Grill at Granby Ranch. Internationally recognized as one of the top 50 European Master Chefs by the International Academy of Gastronomy, Sergio has shared his knowledge Italian food magazines, written a culinary book, and held a Michelin star at his restaurant, ‘SERGIO’.
Each day in the Granby Ranch Tuscan series will feature a multi-course dinner for under $45, as well as a la carte options for antipasti, primi, secondi & dolci courses.
Seating is limited, so we highly recommend reserving your table by calling 970-887-5200.
If you’d rather sample more local flavors, check out Brickhouse 40 in central downtown Granby. Open daily, and serving up a mixed Mediterranean affair from their open kitchen, Brickhouse 40 is widely acclaimed for their Greek specialty dishes.
The Tabernash Tavern is also conveniently located by the highway in the tiny town of Tabernash (halfway between Granby & Winter Park) and is one of the areas premiere eating spots. This little oasis of deliciousness books out in seconds, so be sure to make a reservation ahead of time (970-726-4430).
