Village Ice Skating Rink at Winter Park Resort
Check out the newest ice skating rink in Winter Park right in the center of the Village at Winter Park Resort (pictured, left). This ice rink is completely outdoors and has a great ambiance, with trees covered in lights, skiers coming down the mountain in the background and the activity of the surrounding Village restaurants and shops.
The rink is open daily between 10 am – 10 pm and ice skates can be rented from the Village Rental store located a short walk away across from Starbucks. Rates for rentals vary between morning (10am – 3pm) and evening hours (3pm -9pm). Adult skates are $8 or $10, kids are $6/$8, and a Family Package for two adults and two kids is $18/$29.
Take part in free lessons daily from 4-5pm, too. Just register by 3pm at the Village Rental store for the lesson.

Cooper Creek Square Ice Skating Rink
This is the most centrally located ice skating rink in the area is right next door to the shops and restaurants of Cooper Creek Square. It’s also outdoors, but partially covered, as it occupies a space in the free parking garage downtown. You can ice skate to music playing through their speakers and non-skaters can warm their hands by the fire at the outdoor fire pit just a few feet away.
Lots of other options for shopping and dining are in Cooper Creek Square, too. Our favorite, Mountain Grind Coffee and Bistro, has delicious warm drinks, wonderful Italian gelato and more treats.
Skating is free at the Cooper Creek Square rink; you just need to rent or bring your own skates. Ice skate rentals are available at two nearby shops: the Viking Lodge Rental shop (970-726-8885) at the corner next to the stoplight or at the Christy Sports shop (970-726-4708) in the lower level of Cooper Creek Square.
