Go out for just an hour or for as long as half a day. Maybe you’d like to enjoy a breakfast or steak dinner ride. You can even do a pack ride where you can ride horses to a campsite. For those who’d rather not ride a horse, they offer wagon rides, which can also be combined with a breakfast or dinner ride.

Devil’s Thumb Ranch Stables

Another nice place to experience horseback riding in Grand County is at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. They are normally a bit more pricey, but they offer more options such as private lessons, pony rides, private family rides, full-day rides and more. Devil’s Thumb Ranch is also a large private ranch with acres and acres of open space and trails. The views of the Indian Peaks Wilderness mountain range are spectacular!

Fossil Ridge Guide Service

The only stables in Winter Park proper, you’ll find Fossil Ridge Guide Service just behind Beaver Village Lodge on the south end of Main Street. Offering horseback rides, hunting/pack trips and wedding carriage services, too. They have served the community as the providers of the free weekly carriage rides at Cooper Creek Square, a fun family activity for an evening out on the town.
