Winter Park Ski Area in the Top 25 Ski Resorts

winter-park-resortI’m a little late as Ski Magazine’s top 30 North American ski resorts came out about 3 weeks ago.  But the results are in and our little hideaway here in the Colorado Rockies has earned a top 25 finish in their 22nd Reader Resort Survey.  In fact Winter Park Resort garnered the #23 spot.  Not to complain but I can not believe that Copper Mountain, Keystone and Breckenridge are in front of Winter Park.  I guess those surveyed put less emphasis on snow and terrain than shops and disco bars.

Anyway, pretty cool that Winter Park is in the top 25.  The tag line of the write up is ‘Hidden gem of a ski resort.
Long live the bumps.’ I couldn’t agree more.  Great snow, great runs, best bumps in the world and not pretentious.

Here is the full write up from Ski Magazine for Winter Park Resort.

Cover your Noggin | New Helmet Rules at Winter Park

DSC04745-1Intrawest Resort has just announced that it will be instituting a new program to encourage all skiers and riders to wear their helmets.  All children’s lesson programs will require the kids to wear helmets for class. This mandatory helmet requirement also extends to all children, regardless of age, participating in the freestyle terrain programs.  Fantastic if you or the kids already sport a helmet, but don’t fret if you don’t have that on you equipment list yet.  The ski school is including a helmet rental in the cost of your kid’s lesson. Kudos to Winter Park for realizing the importance of protecting your head.  All of the WPLCO staff are proud to wear our helmets so we can continue to serve our guests.
